Workshops

Our experience and our enthusiasm are available to organize tailor-made educational workshops adapted to the needs of school groups. Main topics: knowledge of the territory, the 2030 Agenda and the 17 sustainable development goals. Activities in Nature and with Nature.

Here are some of the workshops we offer:

LABORATORY

SANTA LUCIA, THE VILLAGE AND THE COASTAL SYSTEM

Objective:knowledge of the forest and the coastal system.

Since 2015, the CEAS has hosted a permanent malacological exhibition in its structure with species from all over the world. There is also an exhibition on rocks, fossils, insects and photos of the Siniscola area. The structure is immersed in a luxuriant pine forest where it is possible to do numerous outdoor activities, and it is also possible to easily reach the beach.

Laboratory: a laboratory is proposed with an operational base in the structure of the CEAS but with the activities carried out mainly outdoors according to the pedagogy of the school in the woods. Given the young age of the children, the activities will above all be playful and aimed at discovering nature and the surrounding environment with a focus on: woods, the beach, the sea, marshy environments and the culture of the seaside village.

It is possible to have a packed lunch at the CEAS facility. At the end of the workshops there may be the possibility of staying in the CEAS structure, immersed in a luxuriant pine forest and equipped with a playground.

LABORATORY

THE COASTAL MARINE ENVIRONMENT, WALK TO PUNTA ARTORA

Objective:learn about the marine environment, shells and Posidonia oceanica. Motor activity with light trekking in Punta Artora, knowledge of the main essences of the Mediterranean maquis and the geology of the site.

Laboratory: in the morning we suggest a trek to Punta Artora, near the old lighthouse of Capo Comino, from which you can enjoy a beautiful panorama along the coast.

During the walk it will be possible to observe the plants of the Mediterranean maquis and talk about the genesis of granite rocks.

For lunch we offer two options: stay at the dunes and have a packed lunch here or move to the CEAS headquarters in Santa Lucia.

The days and times will be agreed.

At CEAS you can also have low-impact parties without the use of disposable plastic.

LABORATORY

MONTE ALBO - PUNTA CUPETTI - THE FOREST: GEOLOGY AND BIODIVERSITY

Objective:knowledge of the mountain, its geology and its biodiversity. Educational and motor activity in the open air.

Laboratory:Monte Albo has areas of notable naturalistic importance, well preserved and hosting species of high flora and fauna importance. The scenarios that are offered are of rare beauty and have an exceptional potential for naturalistic, archaeological and speleological attraction.

The itinerary will start from the locality of S'Ulidone up to Punta Cupetti (1029 metres), one of the major peaks of the Monte Albo complex. The route is uphill but not too difficult and crosses the typical karst environment. From the karst fields of Punta Cupetti, on a clear day you can admire a wide panorama, from the coast to the hinterland. On the plateau there are ancient sheepfolds and Su Pinnatu, a traditional residence of Sardinian shepherds. On the high-altitude fields there are garrigues of Santolina corsica, a Sardinian-Corsican endemic. Last stop at the wood of S'Ulidone with contemplation exercises.

During the excursion we will be able to deepen all aspects: geological, botanical, faunal and cultural.

LABORATORY

MONTE LONGU AND THE PORT OF LA CALETTA: NATURAL AND CULTURAL PROCESSES

Objective:knowledge of the natural and cultural processes that have shaped the village. Educational and motor activity in the open air.

Laboratory: Monte Longu represents a panoramic and didactic point for the description of all the morphological elements that characterize the coast, the plain, the river of Siniscola with the possibility of also overlooking the alluvial plain of the Rio Posada. The port and its history are essential to tell the story of the birth and development of the village of La Caletta.

The itinerary will start from the port of La Caletta to move towards the path to Monte Longu, simple and lasting about 40 minutes. Arrived at the top, the watershed of the two hydrographic basins, you can admire the two alluvial plains of the Siniscola River and the Posada River, including a vast stretch of eastern coast. This panoramic point lends itself well to the description of the morphological units of the landscape and the description of natural processes. Upon return you will visit the port.

During the excursion we will be able to deepen all aspects: geological, morphological, botanical and cultural.

LABORATORY

BETWEEN NATURE AND ARCHAEOLOGY: MONTE ALBO AND PREJONE 'E S'ORCU

Objective:Educational and motor activity in the open air. Discovering the limestone massif of Monte Albo, the fauna and flora that populate it. In-depth study and knowledge of the archaeological cave of Sa Prejone 'e S'Orcu.

Laboratory:Monte Albo contains naturalistic elements of extreme importance, but also archaeological sites of great interest.

During the day, we propose an excursion in the morning to visit the archaeological cave of Sa Prejone 'e S'Orcu, medium difficulty, lasting about 3 hours. To enter the cave, students will be divided into small groups.

For the lunch break we will move to the CEAS headquarters in Santa Lucia, where students will be able to have a packed lunch. After lunch you can visit the exhibition of shells and that of the lime kilns of Monte Albo.

It will also be possible to take a walk in the fishing village of Santa Lucia and its coastal tower.

Autumn, winter and spring are recommended for the excursion.

Laboratory:Monte Albo contains extremely important naturalistic elements, woods, springs and underground aquifers of great interest.

During the day, we propose an excursion immersed in the holm oak forest in the morning, up to the Madonna della Salute country church and after a break, the journey continues towards Ususule, the spring surrounded by majestic trees._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_

LABORATORY

GANA 'E GORTOE: THE CAVE, ITS HISTORY AND ITS INHABITANTS

Objective:Educating in knowledge and respect for the underground environment.

The cave of Gana 'e Gortoe is an important naturalistic site. It almost represents a uniqueness, the fact that it opens inside the inhabited center of Siniscola. Despite this, it has been preserved to this day in excellent condition and preserves various speleothems and cave-dwelling species with a remarkable biodiversity and conservation importance.

The cave is also extremely important from a faunal point of view, with the presence of numerous endemic species including the Geotritone del Monte Albo, an exclusive amphibian of the mountain massif of the same name to which we have dedicated the CEAS logo.

Laboratory:guided tour inside the cave. The visit is of the speleological type and you will need to come dressed in long trousers and boots (or change shoes), bearing in mind that you will get a little mud dirty and your feet will get wet having to walk on the river bed, which however has a low water level. The CEAS will provide helmets with lights. The visit is simple. For practical reasons, groups of up to 15 people can be brought inside the cave, in case the group is larger, the entrance shifts will be made. The guided tour inside the cave lasts about 1 hour per group.

It will also be possible to visit the Monte Idda Path of Siniscola, Sa Untana and its "Garden of Thoughts".

Lesson inside the cave (located in via Olbia in Siniscola) and guided tour. Days and times can be agreed upon.
